My definition of a true friendship is someone who is loyal, caring, understanding, giving, and who is willing to listen and commuicate with you on many things in life.  I believe that if you can find either all these qualities in a person or some of them that  you can have a true friendship with someone.  A true friendship is also someone you can trust with your most inner thoughts with, and were you can open up your heart and know that they will give a honest opioion that you can accept it or not.

Friendship to me is knowing that whatever happens in life good bad or indifferent this person will always have your back. Your friend will want better for you unconditionally. I feel friends are the only people that will know the soul of you, the real you, much different from your other relationships. It's loyalty, joy, care and love.

Someone who sticks it out with you - any and every time. (there are way too many fair-weathered people out there)

In true friendship there are lots of L's - listening to each other, learning from each other, loving, liking, loyalty, and laughter.

To me, a friend is someone who really listens and cares about you, and who is always there for you when you need them, even without always having to be asked.  Someone who puts you above themselves when it's needed, and who knows that they can count on you to do the same.  Someone who knows you so well that they can tell what is going on just by the look in your eyes, and responds to it.  Someone that you can talk to without even saying a word.

In addition to everything we've been saying about how friends see us, listen to us, etc., it is true friendship when both parties to the friendship feel the same way toward each other - being there for them, listening when they need to talk, etc. 

I'm thinking of a particular friendship that I didn't even realize was a friendship at first - just someone with whom I shared enjoyable conversations.  Then, at some point it all shifted for me (the other person had referred to us as friends long before I thought of us as anything but friendly acquaintances).

My defination of true friendship is someone who knows your heart, what your feeling, how your thinking, friendship is a bond of emotions, that tie you together forever....

I found this one back in 2002 and thought it would be nice to share today.

"Friendship"

As I think abou friendship,I wonder if I had my life to live over,how would I live it.

Would I have invited more friends over for dinner,even if it were just for a

hamburger fry or macaroni and cheese?

Would I have set on my lawn more often with

my neighbors and visited while we watched the children play?

Would I have cried more oten with them when appropriate,and

laughd more often when that was in order?

Would I have said "I'm sorry", more often?

I want to be more like the kind of friend found in this acrostic:

R-Risk being real,even misunderstood

I-Interested in the welfare of others

E-Expect the  best of others, Empathetic

N-Natural relationship; Non-exclusive

D-Diplomatic; Delightful; Durable

P-Patient; Protective of confidences; Personble

If I were given another opportunity at life an friendship,I would seize every minute of it...and live it for Jesus.

i have to brag on a couple of people...there is my bestest friend sandi..she always knows just what to say. and my sweet man...he has the personality that always keeps me adoring!!

OK, so I am may be totally warped (may be? HA!) but a friend on another board posted this and well, I think it's perfect. Enjoy.

1. When you are sad -- I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spider monkey jacked up on mountain dew.



2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.



3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.



4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.



5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.



6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.



7. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever the heck you have.



8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy butt.



9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask;

'because you are my friend'.



Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth..

Heck I can be had for the price of a great cup of hot chocolate...around 2.50 I think.
