Posted 4 months ago If you had two job offers open to you,one with a great pay package and another with higher position and power? Re-enlightenment is in the realization of the fact that we have only the present moment to live. |

Posted 4 months ago That's a really hard choice for me. I'm not impressed by money or power. I would want a job that's more fulfilling, and offers me a chance to spend time with my family. And what if your job did'nt pay you as much as the efforts you put in?Or what if the job does'nt offer you ground to acquire new skills or spike up your learning curve? Re-enlightenment is in the realization of the fact that we have only the present moment to live.

Posted 4 months ago I was faced with this decision in the past year. A position with more prestige, benefits, more than I was making, and close location VS a position that was literally written for me, significantly higher pay than the other opportunity, smaller organization with less room for growth, and a change of location inevitable. I choose the prestige and growth over the pay check. There were a number of other factors that went into this decision, as I believe there always are. I stepped out of my safety zone to grow myself professionally and felt that the skills and experience in the lower paying position would carry greater long term benefit than the "quick" benefit offered by the other. I do not believe every "pay vs power" choice would play out this way, and I may have made a different choice at a different point in my life. I know I made the right choice for "power" at this point in my career. No regrets! Korina Anja

Posted 4 months ago Honestly. I would go for the one you like the most. My theory is if you don't like what you do (for the most part) you'll never be successful or happy. You spend more time at work than with the people you love so why waste your time? If I have to be away from my kid all day and put her in daycare I better like what I am doing. That's not to say money is not important! Of course it is but I think if you go with your gut and pick the one you like the most the money will come regardless. I've taken jobs in my life that paid buckets full of money. And I enjoyed that money for a while but my life was void and I hated waking up every day to go to work because it was sooooo boring to me. It's not who you are that holds you back. It's who you think you're not. - Unknown

Posted 4 months ago I would pick the job that allowed me to grow. If I had to complete mundane tasks day after day but made more money, I would not last long in the position. Donna Life is short. Embrace your friends and family with love.
