What is your favorite holiday and why?

Mine is Thanksgiving. The food, the family - I love everything about it.

Christmas, but we celebrate on the Eve. It is a time when the entire immediate family with my sister and brother, nieces, nephews, and parents get together.

My birthday (hey, it is a national holiday) and Christmas! I enjoy buying gifts for others, and watching the look on their faces as they open them. I currently live in Chicago, so I enjoy looking outside to see the snow covered with snow...and I love all the decorations.

This was a REALLY tough one to answer. I will choose Christmas because my whole GI-NORMOUS family gets together, and we have a fishing contest trophy for the year for the kids, and all households participate in a cookie swap/ competition. There's lots of great food and some great wine flowing.

I love Christmas.  The holiday season is so wonderful.  Homes decorated, lights on everyone and lots of fun things to do.

I'm gonna have to say 'New Year's Eve' as this is one occasion that is universally celebrated irrespective of caste, creed.Having lived in a foreign country,I dont get to celebrate Indian traditional festivals like I would back in India. So new years is that time of the year when one witnesses festivities wherever you may be.Bright lights, music, dance, happy ,cheerful faces, getting together with friends/family ,waiting for 12 midnight to strike to wish everyone a happy new year....I love all the excitement associated with New Year's eve.

Easter.  Every year on Easter morning my mom made a special family breakfast after we came home from church.  It was the only time of year she made it so it made it very special.  The whole family had a nice discussion about whatever and then sometimes (because my birthday occasionally falls on Easter) we'd have my birthday party.  Those memories are more special to me than any other holiday.
