A very rare identified connection to child marriage in other parts of the world:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/07/15/yemen.childbride/index.html

A 10-year old girl, married to a 30 year old in Yemen.  A "promise" to her father, that her husband would not touch her until she was 20.  She had to sneak away to the courts for a divorce that cost her a $200 fine (paid to her husband), after reporting being beaten and raped multiple times.

By protesting the practice of "child brides" are we disrespecting a culture?  Or should we be standing up firmly, protesting a significant violation of Women's, and Human Rights?

Wasn't she 8 when she was 'sold' to him to be a bride?  I heard they did ANNUAL the marriage but GAVE THE DAUGHTER BACK TO HER PARENTS!  Who DOES THAT?  I mean they are just going to sell her again, but now she is considered 'damaged goods' so she might just become a child prostitute.  NO this should not be aloud ANYWHERE no culture calls for a child to be rapped that just plain bad parenting and a sick fucked up culture that allows it.

The cultrual rituals of some nations is a slap in the face of the human rights of the offended party.

However we do'nt have to look that far, as right in our neighbourhood or city children are being sexually molested by adults, sometimes with the knowledge of other adults. We have lost our morals in allowing minors to be abused sexually, emotionally or otherwise. We have become selfish and heartless in the manner we care for the helpless children of our nation. We have to correct the manner in which we treat our own, then others looking on will be  tolerant of your plea thus causing them to appreciate and identify with you what you are trying to achieve. ,
