Perceptions are Powerful!

Posted about 1 month ago Perceptions are powerful...take the issue of satisfaction in marriage, for example. A study (journal of marriage and family) showed that the quality of a couples' marriage can be predicted by the perceptions they have of the other's ability to be mutually supportive. So, if I perceive you to be x, y, or z--then my behavior becomes ordered around that perception! Here's the lesson I walk away with from this--be mindful or aware of the perceptions I hold.... what's your take on it? |

| Posted about 1 month ago This is funny. My SO and I were chatting about this last night. When I think of perceptions I think of my actions and how others will perceive them and how they will in turn treat me. I can't remember how the saying goes exactly but it's something like, Perception is Reality. And, of course, because what we focus on expands, our perceptions of reality, perceptions that become our experience of reality, fuel the expansion and attraction of more experiences that validate that perception Need Breeds Ingenuity! |
