In emailing back and forth with my boss about a client who was stalling on paying, I had sent him a copy of the spreadsheet I had sent to the client who requested (yet again) a breakdown of the hours our developers had put in on her project.  My boss response:

Beautiful,

Please follow up with her to make sure she got it and ask her what date the check will be cut.  She informed me on June 26th that the work had been approved and all she had to do was put it in the system.

She is just stalling.

Now, I would like to assume that he meant to put a period instead of a comma after the first word.  I am the HR assistant in our small company, after all.  But the respnse still brought a little giggle and a smile.

Anyone else have any cute or funny typos?

Once in a great while, I've sent something "see attached" with no attachement!!! And I'll realize like RIGHT after I hit "Send"!!

Once I inverted 2 numbers for this phone # our tech guy needed to call. He called a little while later and talked to my mgr. She could barely get the words out bc she was laughing so much. He called the number I gave him and it was this sex line with something abt "fat horny women". LOL I was embarrassed but I couldn't stop laughing. I'm glad the tech guy got a kick out of it too.

I made a hideous mistake and had a typo on the cover letter for a position I was seeking!  I mispelled the name of the organization, twice!  It was a word that has two correct forms (whales vs "Wales")- I just didn't use the right one...

I was horribly embarassed, but somehow: no one noticed and I got the job!

I now use that anecdote to quell students' fears going into an interview- we try not to make mistakes but sometimes we do and it still works out!

My favorite typo of all time (and I swear this is true): I was working as an editor, and several of my freelancer writers complained about not getting their checks on time. I talked to Payroll, which promised to rectify the situation. A week or so later I sent our a note to all my freelancers asking them if they had gotten paid. One writer replied to the whole list with the following note. "Thanks for following up. In fact, I got laid yesterday."

She immediately realized what she had written, and sent out another note that said, "Oops. I meant to say that I got paid yesterday." But it was too late. The email was forwarded around the entire company, and she became infamous, all for not minding her P's and L's.

I have this happen to me constantly.  Now, I purposely do not fill in the blank for the recipient's email address so that it beeps at me and it reminds me to send the attachment.

Saves me from the big "DOH!" moment when I push send.
