Posted 4 months ago Who is your choice (or hope) for each canidates' vice-president selection? Why? Could that choice potentially sway your vote in November? Korina Anja |

| Posted 3 months ago I am almost positive Obama will pick Wesley Clark as his running mate. And I will further gander that the decision will officially be announced on Friday. You read it here first. ;) Daniela

| Posted 3 months ago One choice down- Biden (although I was a Richardson fan, I can deal). One to go. I have a feeling we will not be surprised with a Romney announcement... Korina Anja |

| Posted 3 months ago And, we were wrong! The dark horse choice won out on the republican side! Regardless of which party takes the White House in November, it will be groundbreaking- An African American President, or a Female Vice President. I don't know much about Sarah Palin (R) Governor of Alaska, but I am sure we will be introduced her her extensively over the next few days and months. Anyone know more about Govenor Palin? Thoughts? | Posted 3 months ago Sarah Palin is a very new face to politics. She has only been the governor of Alaska for a short period of time. I think so far she is pretty fair in her decisions as governor. Like you said kar23 we will be learning so much more about her in up coming days and months. I bet there is all kind of information on internet right now. |

| Posted 3 months ago I've actually been doing quite a bit of reading on both VP selections! Regardless of which party takes this election, I am so happy that it will be a 'first'. I know who I want in office, but it is heartening to see the country moving towards tolerance (even for political tatics). Almost amusing to reflect back to when Roman Catholic was considered a taboo choice for the nominee! Korina Anja |

| Posted 3 months ago McCain took me by surprise. I was happy when she seems so down to earth, yet she has changed so much in Alaska for the better. Better keep an eye on her! "Don't tell GOD how BIG your storm is.

| Posted 3 months ago Check out this forum from about a month ago: SenderofCards predicted that Sarah Palin would be McCain's pick. Back then, 99% of us had never even heard of Palin. Nice picking, Sender! Personally, I think the choice is pandering of the worst kind. I would hope we make choices based upon political positions, not genetics. It's hard for me to see how anyone who supported Hillary and her positions would them turn around and support Palin, who is on the other side of virtually every issue. We'll see, I guess. |

| Posted 3 months ago I am woefully behind on current news but it disturbs me that McCain, after his decades in politics, chose a person who he met exactly one time to be his running mate. He had neither met or worked with a single person in all those decades who he believed would make a suitable #2? This is such a blatantly strategic political move to pick up the die-hard Hillary supporter votes, that I can hardly stomach it. I've never understood why the VP is perceived as a way if "balancing out the ticket." I understand that it's marketed that way but why do voters fall for it? Historically, it's not as thought the VP has a tremendous amount of influence on the President. The VP is not even a member of the Cabinet, ferpityssake! Hopefully, Obama will be a different kind of president and take advantage of the international experience that Biden has, assuming they win. At least Obama KNOWS Biden and has worked with him. I don't know much about Palin but she looks like she's stuck in 1980. Of course, I can forgive that. She's probably been a little busy...running the state and stuff....Watch her style change as the effect of stylists and media consultants begin to take place. Goodbye to those glasses, watch her get a hair cut and color. With McCain being as old as he is, the ultimate irony would be that he gets elected and drops dead. Imagine, our first female president would be a person that was picked solely because of her chromosomes...makes me sick.

| Posted 3 months ago I completly agree with Maddie and Caldonia, I would really hate to see Palin take office. I do not see her as the best choice and really hope that women across America will not vote for her based on her gender. If any female had the right, power, devotion, and strenght for the office it was Hillary. She worked so hard and it would be a shame to she this woman who came out of nowhere take that place. Obama is my pick and I truly feel that he will make great changes to our nation. I would have loved to see the dream ticket but unfortunatly he had to make the choice that would give him the greater odds at winning. |

| Posted 3 months ago Maddie said "Historically, it's not as thought the VP has a tremendous amount of influence on the President." That statement was true right up until 2000, when Cheney became President., er... I mean Vice President. These days, choice of Veep seems more important than it has historically. |
