I've just mentioned that I'm thinking of getting a laptop so that I can take my work with me and sit on the beach to do it.  With the modern technology that we have today, we have alot more mobility, meaning we have alot more freedom.  Even mobile phones are a huge advantage.  Remember when they were these huge bricks that you had to carry in a big bag everywhere?  Now, they fit in the palm of your hand, do everything you can think of, including access the internet, and give you a far greater range of motion than ever before, keeping you in touch no matter where you are.  BUT.  What do you think are the pros and cons of that?  What's the downside?  Any thoughts?

While the thought of getting paid while sitting on the beach can be a pleasant one, don't forget that you need to take care of yourself too and that means downtime.  In order to stay fresh and productive, you have to leave work alone once in a while.

On the other hand, I do some of my best work while working in my garden.  I love that environment and since I spend about half of my working time on the phone, I can plug in my headset and work away while keeping grounded (seriously getting dirty!)

Find your balance and your priorities.  You may find that working late into the evening and then taking the morning off to enjoy the rejuevnating effects of the beach works better than taking your work to the beach with you.  We are all different and what works well for me may not work well for you.   Let us all know how it works out!

Don't forget that some technology is sensitive to the heat from the sun. Be sure to protect your laptop from blowing sand which can gum up the machine.
