Posted 2 months ago I thought I was the only one having trouble getting a good job as a military spouse. I am very frustrated with this. I am a new military spouse and left a career. I was happy to marry my Soldier. He is a great man, but I not very satisfied with my professional life. I finally quit my job and am at home for a time. Anyone know the secret? |

| Posted 2 months ago You poor thing (with your professional life) but congratulations on marrying a soldier :) Well... at every base you relocate to, you have this thing called spouse preference. You can only use it once per relocation. It's mostly for jobs you can apply for that support (or have a contract with the military for hiring spouses) military spouses. You can usually find this at the base ACS or center that helps with employment. Spouse preference means you get priority for whatever position you're applying for. Once you get the job, that means you've used up your spouse preference for your location. Sorry, I don't know all too much about which place you're located at but I hope I helped a little bit. Good luck with everything. |

Check out Military.com, they have a section dedicated to businesses that spouse freindly and here is the link to Military Spouse Career Center. I'm not sure what they have in HI, but it's a good place to start. http://www.military.com/spouse?ESRC=family.nl
