There won't be a candidate that we agree with 100% on every issue, but what are the ones that carry the most weight with you?

Mine are:

Pro-life, sanctity of marriage, the 2nd amendment.

What about you?

Oh boy, this is going to be a controversial thread.  But I respect all opinions different from mine and therefore hope mine are respected, as well.  So here I go...

"What issues are you using to determine your presidential candidate"?

  • Extricating us from the war in Iraq

  • The return to the separation of church and state

  • The ability for gays and lesbians to join either in marriage or in domestic partnership

These issues are important to me. I realize not all of them are attainable in 4 years, but I am disappointed that so many of the issues are overlooked year after year. I will vote for the candidate who offers the best solutions. We need to start now to…

1.  Create new jobs

2.  Develop new manufacturing centers in the US and stop outsourcing jobs

3. Create an affordable healthcare system

4. Realign the tax code

5. Deduct SS taxes on salary and compensation with no cap for high earners

6. Develop more alternative energy sources and build reliable public transportation

7. Decrease pork barrel projects and hold Congress accountable for frivolous spending

8. Make college education more affordable

9. Reduce the national debt

10. Reduce illegal immigration

11. End our involvement in Iraq

12. Rebuild our infrastructure

  • Universal health care

  • Equal marriage rights

  • Respect for the Constitution

  • End to our military involvement in Iraq

  • Reform the public education system so that it actually educates

  • Deficit reduction

  • More new jobs in growing industries (don't try to shovel us all into dead-end service jobs)

  • School loan relief for people who work in public service/non-profits

  • A more liberal Supreme Court

  • Maintenance of abortion rights

A Political Cartoon (party and gender neutral) drawn from the perspective of today going back in time, to reflect issues discussed in the forums and in real life.

KJ, I love your cartoon. The "U want me to hold onto these til January" bubble especially resonates with me.
