Bored while working

Posted 5 months ago Hi there.........
I'm very very much bored! I'm tired of doing this stupid work whole day long............. with no good results at the end of day. My boss is very much satisfied with my work, however, i feel my professional growth has been stopped entirely. I dont' wanna look for a job change......... this firm is good and takes good care of its employees, irrespective of cast and creed.
But i'm bored.
What would you do, if you were at my place? |

| Posted 5 months ago Hi, not too long ago I was in your place. I guess the first question is, why are you bored is it the work itself or not enough work? Let you supervisor or your manager know that you're eager to learn more. Is there someone you cover for when they're out? See if you can learn more aspects of their job. Sometimes just adding something new to the mundane day to day can help. You mentioned that you don't want to look for a job, life is too short to spend 8+ hours being bored day in and day out. I know I did if for 7 years, it makes for a long day and boredom is exhausting! Look around at work, is there something you can be helping with, any committees you can get involved with?

| Posted 5 months ago I guess you can be more proactive and look around to see if there's room for improvement anywhere,it's not always necessary to be confined to only what you are expected to do workwise, you can always add on to things that need improvement and work towards getting them better. Other than that,if you have lot of free time at work and especially if you have access to the internet then maybe you could enhance your skill sets by learning new things...something like getting more efficient at using microsoft office....something we use so frequently...try to learn some new tools or another option would be to read, read about stuff that can help you in your professional life, books on time management or effective communication or even networking. The are a lot of things that you can do ...I guess you just need to see what interests you.. Re-enlightenment is in the realization of the fact that we have only the present moment to live. |

| Posted 5 months ago if you are not set on changing jobs, then my suggestion is find a hobby or take some evening classes on a topic/subject you just enjoy a lot! This might increase your "happy" factor at work because you look forward to something else . . . and your day might go by more quickly.
I hope this helps! Rochelle Rochelle Wells

| Posted 4 months ago Would you be interested in going back to school? There is a nursing shortage and every place is begging for nurses. I didn't start my nursing career until I was 30 and had 2 children in school. Many people are changing careers. Nanikj |
