My name is Lila, and I am addicted to yoga.

Ashtanga yoga to be precise. I go three to four times a week, and my body and soul just ache if I miss a class. What kind of practices do you engage in and how long have you been doing it?

I've been doing yoga for about twenty years now!

My name is Daniela, and I, too, am a yoga addict.

I did Ashtanga yoga at my old studio in L.A. but the best and most convenient studio to me here in San Francisco is a Vinyasa yoga studio.

I've been doing yoga since I was about 15. It's just about the only kind of aerobic exercise I don't have to grit my teeth through. I love it.

I got into yoga when I lived in Phoenix Arizona for a few years (Hatha).  Unfortunately, there aren't that many places in Birmingham Alabama that offer yoga.  Also, I got spoiled by taking yoga in actual yoga studios - taking a yoga class in a gym with men playing basketball loudly right outside your room just isn't the same to me!

I am addicted to running, I would lose my mind if too much time went by without my sneakers hitting the pavement.   A few years ago I also did yoga on aregular basis.  At that time I was in the BEST SHAPE of my life.  Unfortunatly I never achieved the level of skill where it became satisfying to do it on my own.  These days I just do not have the time to go to a class, but when my life settles down more, I will definatly get back into it.

I am Rasika...being an Indian yoga has always been a part of my life since childhood..the first thing I had learnt in Yoga was the 'Surya Namaskar'..I think Yoga is  great as it is a simple form of exercise that does'nt require any high tech machines or exercising equipments..and also does wonders to the body mind and soul.

I LOVE Yoga and try to do at least 45 min to an hour every morning.  I found Yoga 2 years ago when I had a pretty significant back injury.  It was the ONLY thing that straightened me out and put everything back into it's proper place.  Whenever my back or hips are tight, I know that I need to go and hold a few postures for a while.  To me, Yoga means the difference between living in pain or living and moving without pain!  I live in very rural America, studios are a very long way away from where I live, so I started learning Yoga by using a good and well recommended DVD.  There was a local Yoga class sponsored by the local hospital for awhile, but I don't think they have it anymore, so my TV and me will have to stay pals!

Hey, fellow yoga freaks!  I found a great discussion forum on the Gaiam site regarding yoga:

I've always wanted to try Yoga but haven't made it happen. If there's a good DVD you girls would recommend, I'd try it out, since there's no yoga studios in my neck of the woods.

I can only do some of the easier yoga moves because my back is fused; however, I was taught by a great teacher. She was from France and taught at the local senior center (you only had to be 55 to join). The class was $2 per session. Beyond the usual yoga moves, we did movements in circles across the room to rev up our hearts. The teacher was very engaging throughout the hour lesson. I still do yoga a few times per week at home.

I need to return to pool therapy where I can mobilize my major joints. Since the only therapeutic pool in  my area is connected to the Y,  I will check out the offerings for Yoga. I find Yoga more stimulating in a group.

I am a fitness freak who has tried aerobics to gym to weight training to jazz. But you bet Yoga takes the cake. It is a very smart way to work-out- less painfull, minimum chances of injuries and very very effective. It is so immense that you can pick-up the aasans (exercises) and make a routine that suits your body type. I actually want to undergo proper certified course and become an instructor some day.

I have been practising yoga regularly since I was about five. My aunt was into it, and I used to imitate her. When I was older, about the time of my teens, I gave it up for something "else". I was a teen, I was entitled to my flaky moments!

Now that I'm older, I have restarted yoga. I practise on my own every day in the morning as a great way to wake up as well as in the evening as a great way to bring my mind back to order. A 15 minute set at each time is all I need to get me going.

Though, I am an exercise addict in general, I think yoga and martial arts are my favourites. I can't get enough of either.

I love yoga and I'm rewarded by it every morning when I first wake up.  There's nothing like a stretch that rival's my own cat's and that seemingly goes on forever.

Agreed! I've even got my boyfriend doing it now with me when we wake up.

I have done yoga before but its hard to do it at home.  Everytime I start husby comes in at the 'bend over' part or the 'legs spread stretch' or the 'cat pose' he is convinced I am teasing him and that it is a 'great conspiracy' we all set up to drive him crazy!  I am trying to look into a non-expensive studio around home to exercise at.

I think the only reason I have not gone to a studio is because when it comes right down to it the tv does not mind it when you tell it to stick it up there ass and other profanities when asked to get into a pose that 'hurts'.  Example, tv girl "just hold it for a little longer"   me "I wish I could choke you for a little longer...."  girl on tv "now suck in those tiny tummies!" me "would you like me to show you where I will place my 'tiny' foot?"  girl "I like these and think we should do 8 more!"  me "I hate you and will make sure you will breath no more!"  could be another reason why my husband likes to watch the workout....entertainment value..........I really like the sun salutation workout and the warrior workout, whatever that is.....involves lying down and sleeping afterwards (my version at least the chick on the tv INISISTS it is a relaxing 'technique")  I would also suggest for you yoga minded girls to try the Goddess Workout....it makes you FEEL sexy!

I did have this coach that would kick my ass all over the gym.......I miss her........
