I have dated both, younger and older (women)...but it remains the younger women is what I prefer for many reasons...

There is the "double standard" in duality...for lesbian women...meaning:

The societal notion remains from gender that a woman should not date younger while a man is allowed and accepted...this is true and borrowed from heterosexual ideals...therefore, when lesbian women date younger we are also prone to recieve the same backlash and eye-rolling from our "gay" commmunity...as do straight women...but then there is the double whammy ----- due to the fact that lesbian women who date younger women also recieve the inquiry from our peers of being more inmature, irresponsible, or less capable of getting women our age...(to name just a few issues)...then there is the more significant stigma of being attributed to having a desire for too young, or being associated with a pedophile...which I must add is the more troubling....yet all in all, since I personally have such a strong personality...i dont receive much backlash or inquisitive negativity...but I know some that do...

For me, the younger women is my preference and I dont feel the need to defend it...Men dont feel the need to defend it...and not that that is the most important thing for me...to do a comparison to men, but it is to say: just as I prefer women in relationships, i prefer younger women...and I will discuss my desires when asked, but I do NOT feel the need to defend, as I am an adult....and questioning my choices in life, should be the least of someone else's worries....

now on the other spectrum, there are some generational issues that come into play when dealing with younger people. That can be easily worked out if the foundation of the relationship is strong...

good connections as you say, can come in all dimensions...as noted, the question now is what is too young?

for me, legal is where I draw the line, limit, but on the whole I am not attracted to most women under 21.

Yes Daniela, that is so true.   I had a friend who was 19 years younger than his wife.   They cared for each other very much and were married for a number of years.  The shocker was he died before his wife from cancer.   Every situation is different.   

I completely agree with Daniela, age is only a number.  I recently was dating a 48yr old man, who initially was a kind, caring, sweet man.  But did a complete 180 turn around, he turned into a child that I could not quite handle.  Age should not play a factor when two individuals come together and matters click.

I am  5 1/2 years older than my husband.  We have been married for almost 13 years. It hasn't been a problem with us, but maybe it is because the gap isn't that big. Nanikj AKA Karen

Thanks Alma for the share.  I am flirting with younger man and keeping arms lenght at the same time.  He has a girlfriend!   However, it has opened the door to new possibilities.   My toe is in the water!!
