| Posted 2 months ago Thanks Rasika, These things were true of my life. I didn't like change, until my life began to change amost on a daily basis. As it was changing, I had to either grow, or become bitter. I believe that I have grown quite a lot. It's a shame that we can't convince younger children before they go through the changes, but as I did, they will have to experience these changes for themselves. Prayer to my God has been the only consistency in my life. God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Without my prayers and the prayers of so many others for my life, I don't believe I would be sitting here typing this. There are too many other choices that are available, and not rewarding. Thanks, again. Nanikj AKA Karen |

| Posted 2 months ago The nice thing about fear is that it's a roadblock we can dissolve ourselves. If you actively make an effort to change your fear into courage, then you can achieve almost anything you set your mind to. Daniela

| Posted 2 months ago My favorite phrase is one by Susan Jeffers, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." Rasika your words expressed here on different fears and overcoming them are excellent. |

| Posted 2 months ago It is amazing how many things we don't due because of the "fear." I am taking the plunge to quit a 23 yr old job in a corporation to branch out on my own....here I am......doing it anyway!!!

| Posted 2 months ago At times I see a recursive thinking pattern in my self and try to break free. Each time I am on the brink, I look forward and see two paths; a path that I have never been on…and one that I know to well, fear of... So I stop, think and read, a classic pattern of behavior for me and this is what I learned. My ‘fear’ is not afraid even when I am terrified and that awareness of my habits does not enslave a habit or awareness of who I am, is not who I think I am. I feel myself trip at the prospect of becoming aware of awareness itself and I know without this element I would be unable to change my life patterns. In other words I limit my self image by my behavioral patterns, continuing to ignore the capacity of mind to create any condition it chooses. So here I am spinning in time, thinking what do I do next? As my neuronal gossip grows and I silently think of mistakes, or self criticism a teacher reminds me that being aware means there is no rejection or acceptance, no loss or gain…just a mirror to look and see. Look and see without judgment in acceptance of what is so. Still spinning… Judgement is harsh. |

| Posted 2 months ago THE VALUE OF FEAR I support everyone in their attempts to overcome paralyzing fear or fear which prevents us from bettering our lives or the lives of our families. So please don't see me as a contrarian when I insert a reminder that HEALTHY fear serves us. When we proceed and do the thing which we're afraid of, our HEALTHY fear serves us by alerting us to potential dangers of which we need to be aware. Our fear can guide us to make the necessary preparation BEFORE we take the scary step. Paying attention to HEALTHY fear and taking steps to protect ourselves and our families from REAL dangers can save us from a lot of terrible stuff. Just as PHYSICAL PAIN is a signal telling us that we need to pay attention to a part of our body. Often, if pain is ignored, a physical malady can worsen. UNHAPPINESS is a signal telling us that we're in a circumstance that we don't like. We pay attention to our unhappiness so that we can change the thing that is making us unhappy. The same is true with FEAR. Fear can be compared to psychic pain. We need to listen to what our psyches are telling us to watch for, guard against, prepare for, or avoid. Phrases such as "Fear is 'False Evidence Appearing Real' may be valuable mantras to help break a cycle if one is experiencing neurotic or paranoid anxiety. But such phrases are not always true. Fear, like most things, is neither all good or all bad.
