This past weekend, I traveled all over New England while attempting to keep WomenCo. updated on a daily basis.

What. A. Disaster. I really struggled to keep up with my daily tasks while traveling around. Anybody have any tips for how to do better next time? I just couldn't get comfortable enough to really give into things.

Plan your work before travel. As many things as possible can be done while travelling. Like making notes of things to be done, rading books, drawing, writing letterto friends/ relatives/ workign onc omputer so on. You will really enjoy the same while travelling as you will nost be bored in travelling with varitis of work

Kylie - the hardest thing about what you do is the "just-in-time" aspect of it. I am a speaker by trade, and often travel to clients, then am with them from 8am to 5pm. I have found that my best "online" time is in the morning! I am up early! That also means I am in bed early!

Write some things in advance and autopost. Have guest posters. Work in the mornings while enjoying your coffee.

Virtualhelp has some good ideas! There is no reason why you can't pre-write some of your columns. You can outine the basic ideas and expand them while you are traveling. I think guest writers are a great idea.

At home, I keep a journal of issues I want to explore further. When I am on vacation or away from home base, I keep a running list of the places we visited and their pluses or minuses.

Being very organized helps, too. Large index cards are a handy way to record ideas for future use because they afford you enough room to elucidate or write descriptive phrases. Of course, your laptop helps bridge your home base with whatever city you are visiting.
