Mother of 8, wanting to work at home without me coming out of pocket!

Posted 7 months ago Yes i said it, i have 8 children and want to work at home without having to pay for it! I always see different things on the internet, post litlle ads, make a payment to get started. BUT! they cost money that i don't have. Because my family size is rather large, i would rather not have to be on the phone, (too much noise in the background)! lol. But something more like data entry, or processing customer information into a company's system or being the one that montior's a chat room. SOMETHING!! If anyone knows where i can start please help me out. |

| Posted 6 months ago I think you can do transcription work from home too. The virtual assistant thing tha Ann mentioned sounds awesome, maybe you can check into that. You can also do medical billing from home, a lot of Dr's. do not do their own billing. Good luck with raising 8 kids too, that's several jobs in and of itself. |

More and more small business owners need support to be able to focus on growing their business. As a matter of fact, Michael Gerber of the E-Myth recommends that entrepreneurs get a support person sooner rather than later. An assistant is the traditional model of showing up at an office and handling all things an assistant may. "Virtual" just means doing it from your home versus coming into an office. What are things VA's can do? answer email, set appointments, run QuickBooks, develop spreadsheets, data mine, proofread, write letters, proposals, call clients, set up auto responders, graphics, oh there is so much more! The goal of having a VA is to take on work that keeps the entrepreneur from doing what makes the money in the business, but is necessary to succeed!

Of course I am biased to virtual assistance, being the founder of Assistant Match. I agree that a person can have steady work as a virtual assistant, and that the keys are being clear in your skills, staying up to date with how to work virtually, and networking to find clients. I’m also a big fan of education to jump start any career, and virtual assistance is no different. Learn from people who have experienced success and failure, and build your business from some of their lessons and best practices.

I haven't checked out any of these sites yet, but wanted to put them here for people. I do recommend listening to the video, however, especially if you are worried about retirement, saving money to retire, and Roth IRA vs SEP IRA vs Individual 401(K), etc. |
