I started a document last year to tally up all the books I read last year.  Hard at times to do with work and every other responsibility I would say I get in a book per month.  I want to do more.  How many books do you read on average?

I'm ashamed to say! I read a novel in about 3 or 4 days and start another one as soon as I'm done with that last. I keep telling myself to make a list (by author) of all the ones I have read but don't have the time.

When I was a kid my sister and I had the goal to read our entire local library - like there is an end! I read a ton - about 5 books a month!

WOW. I never really gave it much thought. I know it takes me about 1-2 weeks to finish up a few books, with my school and work and all I just don't have the time I used to, and then when I'm done I go right to the next one. Let's see the Library gives me books for two weeks. I usually check out three and have them done  in about that time. I've only had to recheck twice so...I guess I can get through about 5 to 6 books a month.

The time really depends on if the story grabs me. I like action and horror and suspense and stuff so...I tend to get done because I can't sleep. It's like watching Prison Break or 24. I'm up for at least another hour or two trying to figure out how Jack's gonna get out of this mess.

It depends. Some months I will read two or three, others I will read one or none. I go through phases and at times start more than one and switch from one to the other. I'm usually always reading something.

I'm always reading something.  Depending if its a realy good read or not, I may read a good book through and through in a day or so. If I can put it down it may take a month or two.  And I usually have two to three books going at time.  I catalog the books I have read and find honest reviews of books at weRead.com  I average three books a month in the summer and five to six books a month in the winter.

Just out of curiousity, how can anyone read more than one book at a time? I have never tried it but I get so caught up in whatever story I am reading that I just couldn't imagine trying to follow more than one....

Am I the only one that doesn't know how to read more than one book at a time? I like to do my chores first thing in the morning then read when I can. Late afternoon I dedicate myself to my family and cooking dinner, etc. then by 8pm I start reading until bedtime.
