Ok, I decided to pull out my soap box this morning. I’m going to climb on top of my soap box, swing my legs, and say I’M SO TIRED OF THIS ELECTION, AND WILL BE GLAD WHEN IT’S OVER. Every time you turn around there is a news broadcast, newspaper article, post, blog or something pertaining to the election…most of it is slandering the candidates’ names. I’m personally tired of it. At one point I would come to womenco and look forward to the everyday post, and laugh when I saw a small cat fight about the election and the candidates, now it’s getting crazy! Every other post is about the election…let’s ALL face it. ALL candidates lie, so it’s a matter of choosing the candidate that is going to screw you the least, choosing the candidate that YOU mostly agree with…going out to vote, and then sitting back to watch the lies unfold. I may throw a darn party on election night, not just because my chosen candidate won or lost, but just so I won’t have to hear the nonsense anymore. Both candidates are very much qualified to be president, they both have made positive contributions to this country…Do I agree with both of them? Heck no! Do I prefer one over the other? Yes of course! But what the heck are the lies proving? Nothing! What is the slander doing? Nothing, but discrediting the value of great men. And guess what….people already have in their mind to which they are going to vote for.

This discussion trend is set up for those to vent that are tired of the election and all it’s craziness and just want it OVER. So if you have an opinion or fact about one candidate or another, post it under the topics for that candidate, not here…Ok, I’ll climb down off my soap box now…

Yeh, it's getting old.  I can't watch the news anymore, need a break from it.  Also, with regards to this site, it seems like people are starting new threads like crazy when they could just be putting their thoughts on threads that already exist.  How many threads do we need that pose the question of what's right or wrong about Sarah Palin?  It would be easier to follow if they were all on one thread.  Ah well, it's almost over.

Lately, I've been trying to stay informed about the issue. Every single time it's about Pain said this and Obama said that. I am sick of it. They need to stick to the issues that matter. 21 more days and it's OVER. Yes, I just want the media to think about their viewers and report on something else other then the election. Vary the news a bit, please.

I responded to a few of them, but no way I'm going to respond to ALL of them! Well maybe over a few days time, LOL!! But it's true, what you said!

I feel like the media has blasted us with the "sky is falling" syndrome. I stopped reading most of the op ed pieces about the economy and the election. We filed for abasentee ballots so we can study the local issues without being hurried.

The upside is there are positive things happening that are overshadowed by all of the doom and gloom. Many parents are spending  more active time with their children. They are engage in physical activities as opposed to paying money for the latest video game or movie. Many of our older neighbors enjoy a bike ride or walk after dinner instead of turning on the tube.  So there is hope for all of us.

Interesting that this is happening just before America is forced to sign up for cable to even watch t.v.

Only a little while left before the elections are over...but I'm sure they'll be talk aftewards too. I'm just so tired of hearing about it all.

yes, the election is very important, but it shouldn't be our total focus either. Goodness, when you turn on the news, read the paper, or even get on certain sites, all you see is election, Obama, McCain, Biden, Palin...geesh!! Isn't there something else going on in the world besides the elections.....We gotta redirect the focus some kinda way!

well ladies, 2 more days. my hope is that whoever wins, has the wisdom and intelligence to run this country with God grace and give us a new beginning which we can be able to eat, sleep, play and work in peace. thank god its almost over. i've had enough of this election!

Oh well, it seems as if I missed all the dialogue on this topic.  Election is over now, it's Veterans Day and we have a new President Elect.  Here's to our future.
