If you could have a fantasy dinner party name five people you would invite. Remember this is a fantasy so think outside the box. Invite any personality from any period of time to make this a night you will always remember.

I love this question!  But I need to have more than one party!  It's assumed that historical figures are current on world events...

One party with Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Jon Stewart, Abigail Adams, Madeline Albright - to discuss world affairs.

One with Vincent D'Onofrio, Steven Colbert, Walter Cronkite, Kathy Griffin, David Simon - to discuss popular culture.

One with Jesus, Sandra Day O'Connor, Barbara Boxer, John McCain, Ellen DeGeneres - to discuss women's issues.

Debra66, come on!  Sitting there with Einstein, MLK Jr., Mother Theresa and Gandhi!  The four of them would be talking about the great truths and you and Matthew McConaughey would be staring into each other's eyes!  Neither of you wouldn't hear a word that was said!
