If you could have any job, what would it be?

Mine would be web producer for a Web 2.0 company but if not that I'd like to be a professional shopper for my own closet or an astronaut.

I would like to be a rockstar. No joke. If I wasn't able to do that I would love to be an industrial designer. Cars are hot!

awinhold, you're are definitely not the only one. I also would love to design cars - and since the automotive industry is increasingly marketing towards women, there'll probably be plenty of opportunities for women entrepreneurs in this field. Here's one woman who might agree with you!

I would definitely love to design cars! But actually I think I would have to go for being an interior designer.

Whichever comes first: My entertainment business where I've written & directed several decent selections of adult films (for a woman's enjoyment) WITHOUT all the smut, trash, cheesiness, and just plain dumb junk! Something spicy-to-flaming hot, but still romantic and alluring. Of course ithese are sold in my lovely girl-frieindly boutique!

Then there's my charity/non-profit. This will be a meeting place for women making a reclamation to a certain part of their lives. Women deserve to live fulfilled lives in any aspect including their sexual health and well-being. Abuse survivors shouldn't wear the scarlett letter of "R" and blocking themselves from having real love one day. A young mother in her 20's dealing w/ weakness from chemo shouldn't have to doubt if her husband still wants her. Issues like these and others will be handled to advocate better knowledge and acceptance of women's sexual health and resolve the conflicts around it.

I'd love to have my own little bountique type of shop but no glass cats or anything, cool fashionable stuff. I'd spend the day looking for more stuff to go in my shop and saling my cool finds.

That or I'd like to have my own Massage Therapy place.

I would like to be my own boss someday. I am not ready to take that leap, but I have lots of ideas I think could pan out once I've gained the skills to manage my own business.

My dream job isin architecture. In fact I did go to school for it but was the only female among 350+/- guys so I wimped out. This was in the mid 60's. I have always regretted not just going for it...despite the apprehension.

If I could have any job, I'd want to be a travel writer. (Or a host for a travel show!) that way, I'd be able to do what I love - writing, developing stories, etc. - while also seeing the world!

I think if you can do something you love it's no longer a job.  I'd like to launch a fun web with caricatures, animations and maybe a morph program.  Visitors could upload a picture to morph and we could call it a therapy session!  This could be quite fun.........who doesn't need some fun and laughter in our stress filled society today?   Hmm, I really like this idea.....I may have to do some research.

I love what I do.    Helping and training people in reaching their dreams and being on purpose.   As my clients grow, so do I.  There is doing what I love (transition and playing a bigger game coaching)  and there is marketing my services/products.    What's neat in developing your own business is you stretch yourself to higher levels.  In the corporate world I was a VP of Operations, Director of Marketing & Admin, Executive Assistant.   I was able to transfer a number of the marketing skills to my own business, Right Track Coaching.  However, there is always something more to learn and process to make your business unique.   For example, developing your own website and programs.

For those of you waiting until something to work at doing what you really - really want to be doing, begin with small steps of integrating that profession into your mindset.  For example, define your "it" and learn more about your "it."   Any stay away from the "how" - otherwise you will scare yourself enough to stop dreaming beautiful dreams.   Your "it" begins with finding your passion.  The "how" steps come one step at a time.  Dream on to what "it" is you are truly meant to do.       TM

I have three things I've always thought would be fun.

Joey Holder (not sure if that's the real name or not), it's someone who works in Austraila and carries baby kangaroo's around in a front pocket to mimic a momma roo, not sure if I'd like all the walking but it's always sounded like such a cool job.

Interior Designer, I've always gotten complements on things that I've done in my own homes.  My youngest has an entire wall that's a French message board!!

Event Coordinator,  I love planning things and actually seeing them all the way through.  Right now I volunteer in this role for Girl Scouts and there is a position like this at my job so I watch, learn and one day if that position ever comes up I'll go for it:)  But every thing I ever go to I automaticly think of what could have been done different to make it come off better.  Even my daughters High School Graduation!!

I also think that if you have your dream job then it's a dream to go to work:)

Stgreg11: I swear I was about to write TV Chef and then I saw you'd taken that one.

I guess another one is to be a Travel Writer for a major newspaper or magazine. Travel, stay at amazing hotels, eat great food -- and then get paid to write about the experience? YES, please!!!

Amen to that Lila. we traveled to France three years ago, and I fell in love with the people and the landscape. DH did not want to leave because we were so relaxed; we took the local bus and walked everywhere. Villefranche sur Mer was amazing, and the local foods were delightful!

My next trip will be to Italy for two weeks. My niece and I will take a few cooking classes, too. We've already convinced a few relatives to join us so we can rent a villa for the vacation. Believe it or not, it is less expensive than staying in a hotel according to our accountant.

I think that it is kind of sad to see so many women having dream jobs in mind, of which they strictly keep as dreams. It is a hard economy and day to day life filled with family, bills, worries, etc  overwhelms.  But what about taking those dream jobs and in some way, shape or form and making them a touchable reality. We as a society work to live, but what about those happy, passionate Europeans who live to work? Why can't that be us?
