In response to Rasika's post "Are prayers powerful?"

It is so awesome to see God's hand at work in my life and others, please share your answered prayers with us, you never know who might need to hear what you have to say...

I'll start....

Last week my husband told me that he and his female boss where driving, instead of flying,  to PA for a conference to save the government some money.  I told him that I was uncomfortable with him being alone in a car for two days with another women.  Then I prayed that  the Lord would work things out so he wouldn't be.

He told me Monday evening that the trip to PA was off, too many participants for the venue.  The meeting is now being held in Barstow, CA.  When he told me, my hands went up and I said "Praise the Lord", he looked at me and I told him that I had prayed that the Lord would work and He did!

I have SO many examples of my prayers being answered. But I’ll use the most recent one. I have been having severe pelvic pain for the past 3 months. I’ve prayed to God for healing, and that the pain is nothing life threatening. I’ve been back and forth to the ER and the clinic, seeing both my primary care physician and my gynecologist almost on a weekly basis. I’ve taken test after test, x-ray after x-ray, blood test after blood test, and every test has come back negative. So despite the pain I’m feeling, I don’t have any major issues that they’ve found right now. All my major organs have been checked, and they are functioning well and in good health. Of course the human side of me was thinking the worst, something like cancer because my 26 year old cousin was diagnosed with stomach cancer in February, and most of my family has died from some form of cancer. So I was thinking the worst…but I know the power of God…I know his healing power…and I know that he answers prayers. So when all else fails and you’ve come to the end of your rope…please pray…because prayer changes things…and in the words of my favorite comedian Steve Harvey…prayer changes people too!

PTL (Praise the Lord), and good morning to all!

"THE POWER OF PRAYER SYMPOSIUM"

Topics:  The Petition of Prayer, the Positions of Prayer, The Omition of Prayer

I find this topic being one of my favorite so far.    I travel throughout the USA establishing Intercessory Prayer Ministries - WOMEN WHO PRAY NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRIES in the Old Country Buffet restaurant chains.  We celebrated our 11th year on (Saturday, September 27th, 2008) in Federal Way, WA at the restaurant chain located there.  Being chosen to do this work for the Lord is a blessing within itself, to God only, be the Glory.

Yes, PRAYER changes people, places and things (I am a WITNESS) to what the POWER of PRAYER can do.  However, I would challange you to try PRAYER first, coupled that with FAITH, and it will produce your petition.  Amen

The norm is; do ALL you can do, then TRY God!  No, Trust in the Lord God, put God first, in EVERYTHINGl, don'g you try to handle it (you will get in His way and mess-up everytime).

If you are a believer of the Word of God (Bible),  and according to Proverbs 3:5 -6 (Trust in the Lord, with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths) KJV.

The Lord God has NEVER lost a battle or a case, and NEVER will!  Amen

This Intercessory Prayer Ministry focus on the bruised, wounded, and broken vessels of God, and is opened to all women from various denominations and ethnicities.  Jesus, is the COMMON denominator.  And again, amen!

Because of Jesus the Christ, we live,

There have been so many to count for me. The one that really resonates was when my father became ill and was admitted into the hospital. The doctor took myself and my brother who was 15 at the time into a room and told us "Your father is not going to make it. He's going to die. You have to face it". Then he walked out of the room. I was 21 at the time and above anything else could not believe a professional would talk to two kids that way who were facing something extremely dramatic and difficult.

I'm in the habit of praying regularly. It was how I was raised, to give thanks. My grandfather is a pastor so this is not new to me. But I will tell you I went home that night and prayed to God like I never prayed before. I think I fell asleep crying and praying. Two days later my father made a turn around and was discharged. He lived another two months afterwards with relatively no pain. I look at that time as a gift. More so for my brother because that is what I prayed for, for him to have just a little more time with our Dad. I know God gave me those two months to do build the strength to get through and to say the things I needed to say before it was too late. In those two months, we were able to celebrate his 49th brithday. Two weeks after that he was admitted and it was very fast. He died two days later. Both my brother and I were there when he died and were with him when he took his last breath. Some people may think that is terrible. But to me, I think it was also something of a miracle to be there at the end knowing he wouldn't have wanted to be with anyone else at that moment.

The other prayer He answered was my daughter. My husband and I tried year after year to conceive. We were married 7 years before we became pregnant. Sometimes prayers take a long time to get answered!

Jean:

I love these topics! Just reading answered prayers of others is very uplifting. I, too, have had many prayers answered, some on a daily basis and some that take much longer, and there are so many small prayers that happen from day to day that sometimes we don't even realize they're being answered.

One of my big prayers that was answered is that I am alive today. We were not sure a year ago if I would live until the end of the year. It was around the holidays when we finally got an answer that it could be fixed, it wasn't terminal, and the news that I would be ok and around for my children. I've had many answered prayers but being able to be there and take care of my children ranks up there.

Wow, the first thing I think of is my Grammy. She was the prayer answered that I didn't really know how to pray. When I was little and throughout my early teens, my parents were fighting and my dad was so mean. My Grammy taught me about the love of God and prayer by her daily example and the hymns she sang. She was me and my sister's soft place to fall in the midst of a scary place. She was, and even recently has been a part of my answered prayers.
