Anybody out there with experience working as a journalist or an editor?

Personally, I was the head editor for an undergraduate political journal when I was was a college student, and actually found it very stressful. Something about having to meet with so many people and suggest so many minor-scale changes to their work - I didn't enjoy it.

But I did write about the music industry for a few months this summer, and found that much more enjoyable.

I've been thinking about trying to get another journal out. A compilation of poetry and prose, most likely.

But what should I call it?

Hi Kylie. I have been working on a newsletter with my team at work. I enjoy writing but editing is the not so fun part of it all. I have never tried formal journalism. What's your poetry and prose about? If you want to get a sneak peak of what readers might think about your work sign up for Associated Content at www.associatedcontent.com As a plus you just might get a few small earnings depending on how popular your work is. Best wishes.

I'm checking your site out as we speak. How are the articles on this site organized - do I see what editors have chosen to place on the front page, or am I looking at what are the most popular articles, or most viewed?

I created a journal in politics, theory and culture called "Interventions" as a senior in college - We printed about 1000 copies, and overall it was a very positive experience. I think my next journal would probably be a little bit less political - more focused on personal experiences, and a little bit more polished (images, etc.) It would also be a terrific way to meet people in San Francisco - you know, badgering them for submissions and all :)

I love editing and copy editing.  Where do you go to get work?
