We've all shared the road at one point or another with preoccupied drivers, who give a whole new meaning to "multi-tasking.  What is the craziest, dangerous, or just plain annoying behind-the-wheel behavior you've witnessed?

Once I we were waiting to turn left at an intersection and saw someone driving through the intersection, going in the opposite direction, with their head completely down, reading a newspaper. 

People who keep turning around and looking for or doing something in the back seat of their car while their car is in motion.  Especially nerve-wracking to be behind someone doing this on the hwy.

People who have their child or their dog in their lap while they're driving.

People who slow down when they're approaching a green light, anticipating it turning yellow. 

People who slam on their brakes behind you at the last second at a stop light - they look like they're going to hit you, and then seemingly almost do by their reaction.  Usually they are on their cell and not paying attention.

Too many times I've seen people on their cell phones in cars: 1- unable to stay in their own lane/straddling or even going over the line almost into the car in the lane next to it, 2- cutting me or other people off and then going really slow, or 3- almost causing an accident when they pull out into traffic.  And you look at them and they have no clue that they've just done something wrong, and I'm sure they think they drive just fine while on their cell.  I worked for a cell phone company for 7 years and they would like you to believe that, too, btw.  They don't care about your safety, they care about their profits and will pay for 'studies' to be done in their favor.

• People who drive below the speed limit in the fast lane and refuse to get over, making everyone pass them on the right.




• People who are on (really any lane), and when you go to pass them, they speed up, not wanting to let you over.  Then once you get in front of them, they slow way down again, back to the speed they were originally at.

• People who speed up to get in front of me, only to slam on their brakes to make a turn - and there's no one behind me!

• Motorcyclists and/or their passengers w/out helmets.


• Deisel truck drivers who act like cars don't exist. I was nearly run over by one bc I was in his blind spot for a few seconds and he just switched lanes suddenly. I had to jump in the next lane to avoid him (luckily that next lane was open!).


• Someone who slams on their brakes for no apparent reason on the highway in the far left lane. That really messed up my car!!

Angela, you hit the nail on the head, to be going the speed limit and have someone pull out in front of you, and them go 20 under the speed limt is GRRRRRR!  And of course when you look in your rear veiw mirror to see how much traffic is behind you, somehow trying to justify the drivers ignorant act, there is no one for several blocks!

My sister used to talk to me on the her cell phone and try to read a map while driving.  Needless to say, she got a navigation system for her car for Christmas.

My husband and I were driving to Houston. The flow of the traffic was between 75-80. mph  My husband went to pass this young girl in front of us . All of a sudden she comes over half way into the fast lane. I glance over and she is texting on her phone while driving over 70 miles an hour.....My husband honks the horn at her she swerves back into her lane and then flips us off for honking at her :)  SOME PEOPLE ... lol

Road Rage. some people get down right nuts while they are driving!  Screaming out the window when everyone is is at a dead lock and noone can move..as if that going to make trafic flow faster..hmph

People not paying attention when Backing out of their driveways!!!!(or parking spaces)that always gets me! ppl who weave in and out of traffic. i despise tailgaiters,esp since i always go the speed limit what's the big rush??? what would happen if i had to stop suddenly???(child runs into street etc...) Oh but the craziest thing I've seen is someone who turned left out of a parking lot, and not realizing they didn't get far enough into the lane(we were at a  red light) so they were just sitting in the oncoming lane traffic, apparently "waiting for the light to turn green" honestly, i don't see how you could not realize you are in the WRONG lane unless you are not paying attention. I mean, how do you NOT see the line of other cars trying to go the same way you are???  needless to say, when the oncoming traffic light turned green, they quickly got in the median to get in the RIGHT lane. that person is going to cause a wreck someday, sad but true.

People who display road rage

Those who use no turn signal

Those who won't turn off their turn signal

Those who are in the right lane on the interstate with no traffic in the left lane, and they will not get over when you're trying to merge

Those who drive over the speed limit in POSTED school zones

Those who fly around parking lots like they're driving on the interstate

Those who give "hand gestures" behind you when you slow down to turn and they have to slow down

Those who talk on their phones while driving

Those who eat while diring

Those who will not pull over for an ambulance, funeral procession, etc.

Those who drive so erratically that you'd think they're the only person on the road

Those who ride around with their high beams on

Those who will not turn on their lights while raining or after sunset or before sunrise

People who weave in and out of traffic on the interstate

I have so many more to list but those are a few.
