I went to catholic school and I spend most of my time in detention. Why? I accidently wore pants, when we all know that ladies only wear skirts. I asked how the virgin mary could remain virgin after childbirth. I tried playing "guy sports" instead of women activities. (The Nuns only allowed you to play board games, knit or watch the boys play sports)Boy was I a rebel LOL

Looking at me you could never tell that I have a sense of humor. I am pretty reserved which makes people think I am extremely serious all of the time. :-)

Used to be a tom boy as a kid. I would throw a fit when my mom made me wear a dress or a skirt. I grew into a girl in high school.

Looking at me you could never tell that I dreamed of becoming an olympic runner after receiving "the fastest female runner" award--as a young 13-year-old elementary school-age girl. :)

  • feared success

  • recovered from a coma, was kept alive by machines

  • keep intelligence hidden

  • don’t care if people can’t tell what gender I am

Polar turn;

  • accepted (dis)ability and served on a state advisory committee for person’s w/TBI

  • became a civil rights advocate for people with (dis)abilities

  • working to be a success

  • I am no longer a ‘fem’ in disguise

  • Considering returning to school to pursue and purse(?...)

  • And, still don’t care whether people can tell…

I was in the very first wave of baby boomers (you can guess my age), have 2 children ( 22 & 20), am a breast cancer survivor (15 years) and survived two attempts on my life.  It's been an interesting ride!

As a teenager, I was extremely shy and quiet.

As a college freshman, I argued with a sexist professor about why females attended college. His point of view was that girls were there to get  married. I guess he overlooked the fact that only 40% of the students were male and 10% were already married.

At the age of 12, I ran my parents' household because they both worked.

I was told I could never have kids, but I have two.
