Every Woman Has a Story to Tell

Posted 2 months ago I find that writing is very simple. There is a simple way to start writing your books. I first bought a notebook and some dividers. I selected a topic for each chapter I wanted to write about. Between each divider i place at least 20-30 sheets of notebook paper. Then, I changed my mind and went to the computer. I opened Microsoft Word and found a book template. The first page was my title page. Next, I made an acknowledgement page. Titles Only. Skipped a page and typed a contents page. At that point, I had already decided what topics I was going to discuss in each chapter, so, I notated each one of them. I did not enter a page number at that point. Next, I skipped two pages and then cam Chapter 1 and title. The next page was Chapter 2 and so on. When I had completed all of the chapters, I begain to tell my story. As you type on your computer, the pages will automatically come together and you can just keep typing. Or, you can skip around to a different chapter when you have a thought on that subject. Once I had completed my manuscript, I searched for a literary agent. So far, it's working out just fine. I have a publisher now. Make sure that the title of your books is catchey. Gwen1215 |

| Posted 2 months ago Hello,
Thank you all for reading this topic. But, can any of you tell me how I can get you all to join all of the groups that I am in now? Gwen1215 |

| Posted 2 months ago Gwen, it's pretty close to impossible to get everyone to join all the groups that you're in. You can invite people and if they accept, great. If not, that's that. Not everyone is interested in the same spectrum of groups that you are in and some people don't even join groups at all. As for writing, I've always heard that writing professionally is a very challenging and competitive occupation and one in which it is difficult to get that first break . I'd love to know more about your publisher. Is this an electronic book or a cloth and paperbound book that you're about to publish? Is this a specialty book? Did you use a specialty literary agent? How long has it taken you to write your book? How many pages is it? Is it purely the story of your life? Or is it fiction? Did you receive an advance against publication? Or will you receive compensation based on sales/viewings? Were you required to front any money at all for the publication? Have you retained the copyright? Or has the publisher acquired it, permanently or for a period of time? I'm surprised you were able to cite your acknowledgements before the book was written...many books that I've read acknowledge the people who have helped the author through the process of writing the book. Interesting approach. Or did you go back and edit it after the MS was completed? Fill me in. Fascinating experience. |

| Posted 2 months ago Maddie,
The acknowledgements were completed at the beginning because the people listed are those that played a big part in my life. I will go back and add the literary agent's name for assisting me in finding a company who is willing to go 50/50 in producing my books. The companies name is Eloquent Books. They have several ways that you can get published. The book will be a print on demand. I retain all rights. They will do the marketing and the book cover. I am responsible for the editing. My book will appear at Amazon, Google, and other know companies. The book has at leat 110 pages. It will be a paperback and also an ebook. This is a true story of my life and all of its adventions and disappointments. But, I made some significant changes by the Grace of God. Thank you for your interest in my writing. Gwen1215 |
