The Beatles

Posted 2 months ago There are those who say that Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, and there are those who say that the Beatles changed the way music was looked at forever. What do you think the Beatles did for music, and what do you think of their changes over the years, as they went their own way? Any one here old enough to know about it besides me? |

| Posted 2 months ago Even my youngest son likes the Beatles. I think many of their songs transcend the decades. I remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Beatles with long hair and anti-war messages arose during a period of introspection among liberal college students who sought freedoms for all. Free love and the drug culture made parents disapprove of their music. I still own several of their albums. Elvis began his career as a gospel singer, and his transition to rock and roll coupled with his sexy gyrations on stage made him popular with females of different age groups, Even my Mom loved Elvis’ songs. Both Elvis with his swinging hips and the Beatles with their boyish charms and edgy songs paved the way for a variety of eclectic bands. Do not forget the wow factor, which gave them instant popularity with the girls!

| Posted 2 months ago I just recently descovered, Elvis didn't write alot of his songs. There is alot to say for artists who write all their own material. The Beatles will entertain me forever. |

| Posted 2 months ago The Beatles seem to be an example of the sum being greater than its parts. Even though they went on to have individual careers, but they didn't have the same impact as they did when they were united. Still, groups, like people, have their natural life span. Jane G. Chambers
