I have an anniversary coming up next month and got around to thinking...what in the world should we do? How do you celebrate occassions such as anniversaries or birthdays? Are there things you do every year or do you change it up a bit?

Our anniversary is next month, too!  September 22nd marks 8 years for us.  We do something different each year; this year we are kinda celebrating a week early because of an event we're going to.  We're driving up to Nashville for a couple days to check out the city and then driving up to Indianapolis to watch the MotoGP motorcycle races - something we both love to watch.

We don't always spend very much money though.  A couple years ago my husband suggested a romantic picnic dinner on the beach afterwork, showing up with my favorite indulgence - Popeye's chicken!  :)  Very romantic to sit and talk and watch the sunset.

Mine is September 13th and it will be 11 years. We don't do the same thing every year, we actually don't plan that much but we always take the day for ourselves and make sure the baby is with someone else so we have our time alone.

Luv that chicken from Popeye's!  The spicy is the best!  Anyway, none of my hubbies ever celebrated a single anniversary with me.  One of the lawyers I spoke to when I divorced the last one said that his wife wouldn't have been as patient as I was!  But since I'd never had it, I guess I didn't expect it.  However, one of my friends surprised her hubby with a trip to New York, and another lady I know was taken to Paris for the weekend by her hubby.  Of course, Paris is a very short flight from here.  But if you have an entire year to plan and you can do a little something to give yourselves a couple of days alone together, just like another honeymoon, I think that would be awesome.

Oh Seabrownthree you had a rotten hubby...good riddance.

I made reservations at one of the Culinary restaurants for us. That should be nice because they have the panoramic view of the hudson river. Maybe one day I'll make it to Paris!

Wow, that should be so romantic with that beautiful view of the Hudson!

Paris would be my dream - one day!

Yeah, there are some restaurants that allow you to have an enclosed table with a view.  I went to one and the service was fantastic, because the waiter made sure that he respected our privacy and slipped in and out unnoticed (almost).  I had called ahead and was quite specific about what I wanted.  Mind you, it still fell flat because my DH was a prat, but if he had played along nicely, it would've been wonderful.
