Advances Made Against Alzheimer's Disease

Antihistamines, immune therapy among ideas that could lead to new treatments, experts say on this site http://www.healthier.com/Article.jsp?aid=8650&ref=278210260&zip=43062&sourceid=40075. A Russian trial study of Dimebon, an antihistamine, showed promising results for patients with Alzheimers. Reseachers hope it will prevent the death of brain cells. Hopefully,  the early studies will produce a safe method of intervention that will improve the lives of Alzheimer's patients.

stgreg11, I am so happy you brought up this subject.  My grandmother (actually more like my mother) was recently diagnosed and I am terrified!  I am certainly gonna check out the link you provided.  I'm gonna stop there because the simple thought of her will throw me into a tail spin.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank You!

I am happy that the scientists are working diligently to understand how Alzheimers develops. The research may not help my Mom, but there are many others who will benefit.
