What are some of the easy to make health drinks you know that help to not only beat the heat but are also great for our overall system?

Here are some that I know of.

1.Raw Tomato Juice-you can add a pinch of salt and a wee bit of pepper to spice this one up else just have it plain as it is.This is great for the skin.

2.Another great  combination juice is one with pear, apple(green apple if you like sour)or red apple if you like it slightly sweet and 1 carrot. This is what they morning juice.Great drink which is nutritious and filling.

3.Another one is to have some lime juice and a table spoon of honey in lukewarm water.Have this empty stomach first thing in the morning to have  glowing skin.Honey has some very good therapeutic properties so always good to consume in limited amounts.

4.And lastly is plain coconut water, another very refreshing drink which can do wonders for your skin.

alot of women tend to lean towards being aenemic, so one thing you could try is a smoothy made of raw spinach, cooked beetroot and orange juice.  It does taste much better than it sounds.  In fact, it's pleasant.  The spinach and beetroot boost the iron in your blood, and the orange juice works together with them to boost the iron.  The orange juice is crucial to the process, they work together.

I do not drink my fruit or vegetables, I enjoy them off of the vine, out of the ground, and off the tree. DH asked what I had for dinner tonight. I had red skinned potatoes, fresh carrots, and string beans and a piece of Dove chocolate for dessert. That is my kind of meal. He wants to know, where is the meat?

To men, a meal is not a meal without meat!  They do need it, poor things.  But I like the idea of the cucumber and celery thing.  Those veggies are good for the circulation.  But what do you do about the strings in the celery?  I know you can peel off the ones on the outside, but do they work in a blender well?

Peel the celery with a sharp, paring knife instead of a vegetable peeler. Wash in cold water after peeling. If you cut the stalks in half, you can position them vertically on a cutting board and peel downward. It makes the job easier.

DH is a meat and potatoes person. He grew up in OH where potatoes and corn were the main vegetables. He ate lots of pork, ham, sausage, and beef as a kid. His grandma was southern and she cooked for them a lot; she was famous for her homemade pies and biscuits. It is amazing that everyone remained thin so genes must play a part.

We eat very green with lots of vegetable varieties, salads, fruit and some lean meats. This diet makes me happy, and DH is happy and compliant if I overlook a few lapses like lean ham sandwiches, his favorite lunch. Finally, he agreed to eat breakfast instead of a cup of black coffee. Fortunately, he is a healthy person with low cholesterol

Cut the celery into one 1/2 inch pieces after peeling them. Pulse the celery before you add the other ingredients. You will still get a grainer texture as opposed to a soft tomato unless you own a Vita Mix blender, but that machine is pricey.

ah, ok.  That's what I was wondering about.  Yeah, I don't have the money for that thing, just a blender.  We get them for £5 at Asda.  Roughly $10 at Wal-Mart, then, I suppose.

for a quick pick me up -- vanilla soy milk and some fresh strawberries --- give it a whirl with one of magic mixing wands, grab a straw and drink up. I  use different kinds of fruit -- sometimes mandarin oranges and bananas, or peaches -- also in the winter - I use frozen fruit - blueberries, raspberries -- quick and delicious.

Health drinks and I do not agree. The ones I like aren't so healthy so I stay away for the most part. I do like anything with fresh strawberries in it or bananas but I feel they weigh me down most of the time. Some of my co-workers swear by health drinks and come up with crazy concoctions. One woman came in with a blueberry, coconut, and pomegranate shake. I didn't try it myself but everyone was raving.

I have posted about this before. There is a website by the name of Rawfu that my friends are following.  They both have lost about 25 lbs.  It is not a fast losing diet, but it is natural.  They have also become much more aware of everything they consume, such as soft drinks, etc.  My smoothie of choice (coming from someone who hates most vegetables) is:   a small amount of water, just to keep it from being too thick, a handful of baby spinach, a carrot, two bananas, a lot of strawberries or sometimes a peach. Oh, and I also use celery. Mix it all in a blender one item at a time seems to work best for me.

A tip for keeping bananas from getting too ripe--slice them and put them on a tray and freeze. When they are frozen, take and put in a freezer bag, and then you are ready to go.  Banana slices like that are good to eat just by themselves!  They also make the smoothie cool when prepared this way.
