I go running on all types of surfaces and my shoes get pretty beat up and dirty. I've heard its O.K to throw them in the washer and skip the dryer, but I'm still skeptical. What do you guys think?

I would think this would be okay, just be sure to tie up the laces in the shoe enough that they aren't flailing about. For example, you know when you but a bathing suit in the wash (even on delicate) and the strings get in a huge knot? It is a pain in the behind to undo.

Also, I would put your shoes in the sunshine to dry. Be careful about putting them in weather that is too cold because the cool air will zap the threads and make them dry and stiff (just like it does when you go out with wet hair.)

I actually don't think it would be too bad to put them in the dryer on a loooooow temp setting for just a few minutes to shake off some moisture, just be sure to take out the insoles because this might change their shape.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look forward to showing off some cleaner sneakers at the gym :)
