I never thought I would say I love school again!  Grad school is a huge challenge for me, especially since I am working full time and raising a teenage son.  I know I can do this, especially when my professor lives in my community.  She stressed to me that I can do this and she expects nothing less!

Best to You!  I'm planning on attending next year to get my Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Tuacsmm- best of luck!  Of course you can do this.  I just handed in my application for grad school yesterday, sometimes I feel that getting the ball rolling is the most difficult step.  If your professor feels that you will be sucessful, maybe you should listen to her instead of yourself- we are often our own biggest critics!

PsyCouture- where are you planning on attending for your PhD in RC?  My undergrad is in RC, but my alma mater recently discontinued the program.

I'm considering LSU Health Sciences Center or the University of New Orleans.

The very best of luck to you in Grad School!  I am in my second year of Grad school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and it is by far the toughest thing I've ever done, but will be the most rewarding once I graduate.  So good luck to you!

I went back for a Master's degree when I was 40.  I enjoyed it so much and was a much more active student than when I was younger, even though I was working two part time jobs and raising two children.  I would come home so energized by the class discussions that it was hard to get to sleep.  Congratulations to all of you who are going on to graduate school and best wishes for a great experience.

I am currently in Grad School as well.  I returned to school two years ago part time. I am in the final phase.  I returned to school out of my need to grow.  It has been a very rewarding venture.  My words of advise, 1) stay focued on your goals 2) find that special time when you can study and get your homework done 3) find a buddy in class.  I have joined forces with 3 other ladies and we try to take our classes together each semester and we work at it as a group effort.  There is a degree waiting for each and every one of us.  We are not in competition with each other instead we compliment each other.  Education is unlimited.  You have taken a wonderful step in your life, this is something that you are doing for yourself.  Don't overload yourself, take it at your on pace, the pace that will guarantee your success. Most importantly reward yourself every once in a while.  You deserve it.

I have a master's in education from Columbia University, and am considering going back for my PhD at a local school here in Texas. There's no such thing as too much school. :)
