I was laid off from a company after 32+ years and it seems like the only companies interested are Staffing companies.  If a full time job becomes avilable is it ethical to leave the staffing firm and take the full time permanent job.

Sure, why not. Staffing companies do not expect employees to remain long term.

Yes of course it's ok to leave the staffing agency for full-time employment. It's been my experience that in working with staffing agencies you get your foot in the door of companies that wouldn't necessarily be letting people in.
