I am starting my SECOND week on my new job.  Small world the guy who has been grading my semester reviews took an interest in me (said I had a 'briliant mind') and even though I do not have the training and he originally did not have a position for me, he managed to squeese some hours in for me to work for him part time until my training is done.  So far I LOVE it, I have been praised on my ability to learn very fast, and the best part is that I am being trained in the field I need to be in at my skill level for my school and what makes it even PERFECT is that he designed my FAVORITE hotel and the Target we shop at and our grocery store and my cousins favorite YMCA, so that is a small world.  There are also other students on the faculty and alumns as well so many people to comiserate with and many people to get imput and ideas from as I progress through school!

"The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough."-Randy Pausch

I am stoked for you. Without the search; with drive and purpose, in acts that define who you are and what you have to offer (day in and day out), you captured a prospective employer’s interest with your cognitive characteristics. Stellar and far out groovy.

It seems when an unlikely or remote event takes place that is mutually beneficial, it capture’s our attention and the reinforcing nature of how interconnected we all are. Your story reflects this remote possibility in a per chance interaction, with shared mutual interests, that resultantly blossomed into a vocational opportunity.

Thanks for sharing. I like your qoute about brick walls; Rock on!
