| Description: | The Notebook is an epic love story centered around an older man who reads aloud to an older, invalid woman whom he regularly visits. From a faded notebook, the old man's words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. Though her memory has faded, his words give her the chance to relive her turbulent youth and the unforgettable love they shared. As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. The young couple is quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn't right for her. Several years pass, and, when they meet again, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie to choose between her soul mate and class order. This beautiful tale has a particularly special meaning to an older gentleman (James Garner) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (Gena Rowlands). |
The greatest love story of all time, IMO.
The best movie ever!! My husband even loved it and cried at the end! Everyone must watch this movie! It is not to be missed!
Thx God 4 second chances...I need one myself...
I really enjoyed this movie too. Tear jerker.
This movie is incredible... a story of the truest love there is... if only everyone could experience a love like theirs.
This movie is so good. Love the author, Nicolas Sparks. The book and the movie came out nicely and very touching. I cannot forget that book and movie.
THis Movie deserves 10 stars!
All time favorite movie and book. For once a movie is just as good as the book and stays true to the characters and story. LOVE IT!!!!!
Seen this movie a million times and I still cry like a baby every time!
What an awesome movie about love. It makes you wonder about how strong our love will be for our spouses when we grow old.
I love James Garner in anything. But this movie is so tender and he should have gotten an award for his part in this movie. Tissue, Tissue, Tissue, great movie.
A definite tear-jerker.
One of my absolute favorites. I cried like there was no tomorrow. I always enjoy watching stories of long lasting loves. Gives me hopes.
I not only watched the movie but read the book as well. (cried while reading the book) This is a great love story that is so good that you cannot put the book down and you could watch the movie over and over without becoming bored with it.
Such a sweet story!
Truly sad, but so real.. If you are young and you wanna know how your potential husband feels about certain fundamental issues, then take him to watch this!! PLUS, you can read this story by Nicholas Sparks!
I suppose it is possible to watch this movie and not sob, but i really don't know how! What a beautifully played out story of "forever love"... I tend to watch this one over and over.
