About Me:: I graduated in December of 2007, and I recieved my BFA in Studio Art and my focus was in photography. I just recently found a job and so far things are going well. I hope to one day sell my photographs but I am not sure how to market them. Any advice would be much appreciated. :-) Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I really enjoyed learning new things while I was in school and I plan on continuing to explore. The sunlight sets the stage for most of my work. It provides me with countless chances of various compositions, which gives me the opportunity to seek diverse subject matter. Photography has also been an immense influence in my life. I not only use photography to create a work of art, I also use it to document an idea for later use in painting, drawing, etc. My style and subject matter can never be described as controversial, but rather an interpretation of what I see and feel. The main objective of my art is to present actual or abstract environments of shape and shadow in which the observer may immerse himself and enjoy his escape into the moment. ~I am sure everyone knows not to copy others work, but I will ask anyway that you please not copy or use any of my art without my permission. Forgot one more thing. Have you started your portfolio? That is always a plus and a definite must. I have two. A large canvas type that I show to clients with 8x10's, and I have a (plug) Creative Memories small Picfolio (4x5 or 5x7) one that I carry around for those "on the spot" intros. It fits in my camera bag. You'd be suprised how many "passerbys" have stopped me during a photo shoot and asked, "do you have a card, or sample of your work?" 5 minute intros are great marketing tools. Sorry, I tend to ramble because I LOVE learning and passing on what I have learned. Happy Thanksgiving. You are your best marketing tool.

Your photos are great. I can't tell if they are "true" B&W or if you used a filter. My eyes must be going. Either way, your eye for color is beautiful. As for marketing them. Have you tried to ask your local merchants if you can hang your art work in their shops or restaurant. Do you belong to a local Camera Club. That is a great way to network. We have a local merchant association that has a "Last Friday of the month Gallery" where you can have your art work displayed at various restaurants or shops. At dusk, they have the gallery showing. Also there are on-line postings for example smugmug.com is a great place to start. Please add more of your work, you really do have talent. Don't hide it

Yay I just read your comment on the new job!! So you have started by now.. How is it. How does it feel to have a "real" job...lol It's much easier than school in my opinion. You leave work and work stays at the job.. Not in your bedroom or dinning room haunting you lol... I'm doing well. I really like the midnight shift. The whole hospital is different at night time. Everyone says hello to everyone else. No nonsense and petty arguments. people are just so much nicer on this shift. We all work together. No matter what floor, job title, or department.. A real relief!!
